One of the many things that I like about participating in the 365 Project is being inspired and motivated to see the world around me with fresh eyes. I find that I am looking more carefully and purposefully, and seeing things that I overlooked before. I am also going off the beaten path and discovering new territory in familiar places. Thanks to this project, every day is a new adventure.
This photo was taken in the canyon near my home. Today I approached it differently. There is no pedestrian access to the river so I left the main lookout point and climbed down an embankment to get to the water's edge. I felt like an quite an adventurer going where no one else goes and rewarded by this view.
Good for you Lisa! That is one huge benefit of belonging to this website. It makes you teach your eyes to look beyond the ordinary that most people miss. It's so exhilarating to go back at the end of a year and see how much you have progressed in your photography skills!
I couldn't agree more with @skipt07 ..You learn a lot from this site and if you see it through you will make some great friends with like minded people who share a love of photography, Lovely shot, btw.
It looks very beautiful and wild. I agree completely: I'm also noticing much more, seeing much more and appreciating much more how fortunate I am to live where I do. It's also brilliant seeing new places through other people's photos.
I totally agree with what you said about seeing things differently or often for the first time, it makes you SLOW down and really look! Lovely shot btw.
Absolutely true. I even found it to be true inside my home. I watching how the light changes through the day now and taking note of the intricacies of things that I cherish. Your adventurous spirit was certainly rewarded by this shot- it's stunning!
I was just telling my husband how pretty Idaho is, and that I learned that from 365! Obviously, this photo proves it! I love that it has made me more aware of the things I see everyday, but also has made me appreciate the beauty of other places.
I also love seeing different parts of the world through different people's lenses. This is such a beautiful looking canyon. I love the mix of snow and water in it!
This is the second photo of yours that I recall from in the canyon, and I appreciate seeing a part of Idaho I might not see in person. But, be cautious around river ice!
@skipt07 Skip, you are absolutely right. I am excited to reach the goal of one year and see how my eye and abilities might progress over time. Thank you so much for your comment.
@steampowered Thank you for your comment, Paul. This is the first time I have added a B&W shot, but this image lent itself to it because even in color, it looked B&W.
@happysnap Thank you for your comment, Linda! Interestingly, even in color this photo looked B&W. I do agree that it seems to enhance the lonely feel to this scene. Thanks again.
@olivetreeann Thank you so much, Ann. I have been noticing the light in my home, too! Must be part of the 365 evolution to more observant person & photographer. :)
@rvwalker Ross, you have a good memory. I have posted a shot from the same canyon. I suspect it will show up again as the seasons change. I find it such an interesting landscape and it's also very close to me which is a plus. I will definitely be careful though. Although it might look kind of iffy, I was on solid ground the whole time. Thanks for your comment!
@emrob Thank you, Mandy. I so agree that this project is a wonderful window to the world. I didn't even consider that benefit when joining but now I absolutely love it.
@cathieg Thank you so much for your comment, Cathie. It is amazing how much more aware and observant we become in a short period of time. It's exciting to see this develop over the next weeks and months.
@lisabell Thank you for your sweet comment, Lisabell! I agree that another wonderful benefit of this project is seeing photos from around the world. I never considered this aspect when joining the site, but now love it.
@roadshow Thank you so much, Gloria! So true... it's exciting to imagine all the images we will find and create in the coming months. What amazing adventure this is. So glad to have met you on this journey of discovery!
Imagine all you will see with fresh eyes in the coming months!
Brilliant
this is a great B&W image!
