Limited opportunities for a photo today. I spent the day on a university campus watching my son and his school team compete in the National Science Bowl.
I liked the intersecting lines in this stairwell of the engineering building, and once the students passed through, snapped this photo for today.
Wonderful shot Lisa. Love the detail down to the grain in the wooden steps. Love the diamond shapes created by the lines of the railings. Wonderful shapes, colour and tones. Well spotted. Fav!
@jyokota Thank you for your comment, Junko. Thanks also for linking me to Taffy's photo. It is very similar! It's nice to know that these line patterns appeal to other photographers, too.
I've seen similar photos before, but probably none with such an effective illusion. At first glance I thought the steps were vertical wooden structures. The two-color composition is beautiful too.
@rvwalker Thank you very much, Ross! It was a really interesting staircase. Being locked in the same building all day made me pay attention to what photo possibilities I had in my immediate environment. I'm glad I saw this, too.
What a great perspective and shot. I find stairs so interesting with the patterns, and like the details in this one and the wood against the metal. When I did a similar shoot of our deck stairs, I ended up focusing just on the cross points that formed the multiple x's. I like the perspective you used here.
@jyokota Thanks for connecting me to Lyn's photo, Junko.
@taffy Taffy, thank you for your comment and follow. I really love to find interesting patterns for photo subjects. The white lines in these stair railings contrasted sharply with the wood of the boards and jumped right out at me. I really like your composition. I wonder now if I could have isolated the x's. I may have to go back to the building and give it a try sometime.
@jyokota Thanks for connecting me to Lyn's photo, Junko.
