Today was one of those days where the weather couldn't decide what it wanted to do. We had rain, sunshine, hail, and finally an impressive thunderstorm. Somewhere between the sun and storm, this amazing sky appeared. I was driving at the time and stopped for some quick photos. I opted for an up shot to avoid a chain link fence and high school track busy with runners. I do like the simple composition with the church spire and treetop reaching into the stormy skies.
A-spire-ing? Ouch! Great shot though :) The right hand side, with the treetop(s), has a kind of oil painting look somehow. Maybe because it's more dramatic?
By the way, out of interest I cropped a copy vertically on that right hand side and it looks quite interesting. See what you think.
@Cheesebiscuit Thanks for the comment, CB. I can see a crop option on the right. The tree top and layers of clouds above it do their own cool thing. I appreciate the suggestion!
I like the simple and effective composition of this as well as I am loving the dramatic cloud formation. The church spire looks like a needle piercing the heavens. Great shot.
Beautiful dramatic feel to this. I love the way that you have framed this with the spire and tree creeping in. Wonderful light. Such a powerful looking sky. Great shot.
I love the contrast of lighting with the spire :-)

I really liked the colors of the sky.
Congrats.
