I am the team photographer for my sons' swim team and have been shooting their weekly meets. It's been a challenge for me as I have no experience with sports photography and the lighting conditions in the pool halls are especially tricky. I tend to get a lot of splashes and tops of heads! I am happy with this one though and thought I would share.
@kwind Hi Kim, I know you shoot a lot of swimming competitions so I wanted to share with you. It is such a difficult sport to photograph! Lots more misses than hits so nailing a shot is exciting. :) I am sure you agree!
This is great! Lighting is so difficult at the pool! I would shoot 100 shots and keep 5 if I was lucky! Practice makes perfect. My kids aren't swimming this year. I'm enjoying outside soccer shots instead.
This is super Lisa, but the swimmer is really happy with it. My nephew is into diving and they keep asking me to come along and take some pics but so far I've chickened out. As you say the conditions in the pools are very tricky!
You'll see I've been clicking favs here and there! Just checking in. I'm very rarely on enough these days to connect, but I sawp your tile on another photo and wanted to say hi! :) How are you? Oh and I have done the sport photo thing for soccer and xcountry. Swimming is hard. Don't be, afraid of high ISO since light is bad indoors. xoxo
