As the swelling has gone down it's become more obvious my finger is misshapen so after calling 111 I visited the urgent treatment centre today. Unfortunately the xray showed its broken and needs to be in a splint for 6 weeks. Fracture clinic appointment on Tuesday to see if there's any tendon damage.
@kjarn I really wish you hadn't been right but thank you for your observation which helped prompt me to get it checked as I was concerned my history was making me overreact.
I'm glad I was right but only in order for you to get it seen to. I'm sorry I was right as I'm sorry it's broken. I'm a nurse and it just didn't look right to me.
