Al - smiling as always!

My 'ickle brother Al is leaving the RAF after 31 years service. He is celebrating in style next month by walking from Land's End to John O'Grotes but this weekend was party time!
Wow ...best wishes to him. My son and his friend cycled it in 2012 and it was a fantastic experience. But walking is another challenge. Hope the weather is fine and his feet don't suffer too much.

@sarah19 thank you so much. Al did a trek to the South Pole a few years ago where he lost most of both thumbs to frostbite. Operations to graft part of his big toes to create thumbs (which sadly failed) means he's undergone numerous operations on his feet the last one as recently as November 2013! He is the most determined and upbeat person I know and currently has £15,000 of pledges in aid of his local.hospice where his best friend received superb end of life care. He will do everything within his power to complete this latest challenge!
