Katy (GrammyN) was put back in hospital after complications. They found a tear between brain and skull that was leaking. After that there were multiple blood clots in her lung. They surgically installed an umbrella device in her main artery to prevent a clot from reaching her heart. She is resting well after the surgery.
Oh dear, I have had Katy in my heart and prayers everyday, and was just hoping she was doing better. Sorry to hear about this set back, and hope this umbrella will prevent any additional problem. Please give my love to Katy and tell her that I am sending all the positive energy for her recovery. She can do it! Yes, Katy, she can do it. I appreciate your updates.
Oh, my so sorry that this has happened to Katy and thank you for keeping us up to date here. Wow, how scary. I had an umbrella put in when I had my hysterectomy in 2003 as I had a blood clot 3 months before my hysterectomy. Mine was inserted through the jugular vein in the top of my leg and taken out at the jugular vein on my neck two weeks after my hysterectomy (some are permanent while others are not). My Dr was concerned about a clot happening during surgery. My thoughts are with Katy, you and your entire family. Please give her a hug from me. Tell her she has the life of a cat as they have told me I have the same, nine lives. We were meant to be here. Out of the blue, I had a Pulmonary Embolism in 2005 and put on blood thinners for the rest of my life. Sounds like she has excellent Drs. and excellent care. Take care Katy.
Oh goodness she is going through the mill a bit! More steps backwards thEn forwards it seems. Hope she recovers from this set back soon, then onto further recoveries.

Oh !!!!!!!! Katy!!! So sorry to hear you are back in the hospital...but definitely the very best place to get all sorted out once again....those little umbrella devices work like magic an dhave been around for years....so quite a testament that they do work very well. Hope that they send you home once everything is calm and stable....love and hugs
Katy dear heart, you are in the right place in the care of Earth angels. There are some marvellous procedures about in surgery nowadays, I am sure you will be fine in no time. Keep strong, keep the spirit!
Scary! How did they just happen to find that!? Did she go to the ER with pain!? Or was it in a follow up visit with scans and x rays? I am so glad they are on their toes...sounds like a good team of doctors. We love and miss Katy!
