The ice on the lake right now is basically heavy slush, when the winds pick up the ice starts mounding up along the shoreline, to heights of 8 to 10 feet. It's interesting to sit and listen to the crunching sound of the ice as it is constantly moving. The air temperature is much warmer than the ice on the lake so this results in heavy fog rolling in off the lake.

Itr's a shame you still have ice, but I hope iy will soon be gone. I love the composition in this shot and especially the fog in the background. Fav for me.
Have not seen this for myself so it's very interesting to view in your photo. It's beautiful in its own way, the ice creeping up onto the rocks. Love the fog in the distance too. Mystery and intrigue galore!
