This is for black and white February - Day 7.
One of our task this week was the emphasis on shape and form. In this particular photo my focus was the repetition of triangular shapes in the actual building, the shadow, and the trees in the background.
I love the way LR accentuates the contrast between light and dark.
Thank you for your comments and favs on my project, it is always a pleasure to read them.
Beautiful shot, and yes, you are right about the perfect contrast and tones in B&W in this one. I love how the building that has obviously lost its roof over the years is now opening up to the landscape and trees beyond. Love the triangular shapes of the structure with the horizontal banding, and the verticality of the nature revealed through them! FAV!
This is really awesome. I was going to ask how you get such strong contrast. Is LR as scary as some make it sound? Sure makes for lovely images like this. Great shapes and comp. fav
@eyesmile Hi Gena thank you for your comment and fav I've been using Picasa for a few years and just got into LR a month ago. I'm teaching myself with these easy to follow YouTube videos on how to use LR, they make using LR very manageable.
Great job with the LR adjustments. The contrasts really stand out in this pic. I was going to ask how long you've been working with the program but I see you've answered that question already. It's impressive what you're doing with that program!
