This swing bridge is situated on Georgian Bay and was built in 1913 to allow rail traffic between Manitoulin Island and the main land, the oldest swing bridge in North America swings open for 15 minutes on the hour to allow watercraft to pass. Can you see the sailboat going through the bridge on the bottom right??
So glad you liked my water lily, as it made it to the PP for a little while!
How very interesting! Not just the swing bridge but learning about Manitoulin Island! Was up at Lake Fortescue recently and also my son is a pilot for Georgian Airways!
