This wilted sunflower is offset by the wood carving in the background. The figure was carved by a famous wood carving family in Quebec where everyone in the village works on carvings. Originally they did very elaborate wood carvings for the alters all over Quebec for the Catholic church. As the churches are disappearing these families carve wooden figures mostly for the tourist trade.
