Pigeon

This is an early morning visitor and he has stayed all day, he doesn't appear to be injured, but does not leave the ground. He is very friendly and banded so I'm worried about foxes and cats outside tonight!! Does anyone know what type of pigeon this is?

He's lovely. He doesn't look like a "wild" pigeon. Maybe a homing pigeon who lost his way ..

@annepann @milaniet @gardenfolk @thistle @elkereturns @bintal @jgpittenger Thank you for your comments and concern for this pigeon that found his way into our yard, he rested, was fed and watered and by 8:00pm he flew away!! At least he survived the fox and cats outside!!
We are hoping he finds his way home!!
