Dr. William Henry Drummond

We came across this old machinery while snowshoeing, it was used to haul men and ore up 900 feet in the William Henry Drummond Cairn. His home was at the top of the cairn. Dr. William Henry Drummond was also a famous Canadian poet whose humorous dialect poems made him one if the most popular authors in the English-speaking world, and "one of the most widely-read and loved poets" in Canada.
