@janek Don't know for sure, but from what I can figure out it may be basaltic andesite - a volcanic rock. It's the kind of rock I mainly saw in this area between two volcanoes - Mt. McLoughlin and Brown Mtn. Brown Mtn. erupted 2000 years ago and created a lava flow through this area. Thanks for your interest.
