@mebswartz I'd taken it in RAW format so I did my usual RAW tweaking and then saved it as a JPEG so I could transfer it to my phone so I could use the Iris app. In that app I used the effect of color sketch. I wanted to work more with the colors so I moved it back to PS Elements where I worked primarily with getting the yellows and blues the way I wanted them and changed the reds to more orangey tones. I'm sure there are any number of other and probably better ways to do this. :)
At this point in my elementary photography excursion, what you've described is beyond my capabilities. Thanks for the details, though. Something to look forward to. :)
@mebswartz - i was thinking - you could get an equivalent effect if you have a phone which can use the Iris app. (mine is an iPhone). Just take the photo on the phone and use the special effect I described - color sketch - to mess with it. Iris has a lot of fun effects and within each effect a big range of adjustment. The reason for my last step of going back to PS Elements was that I find it easier to work with a larger image than I can get on my phone. The Iris app is, amazingly, free and can be found online just by searching "iris photo app" - it has a longer name, but I can't think of what that is. Learned about it from @brumbe.
@tryeveryday wow thanks for letting me know; some days I don't look so could have missed. onlyy 2nd time. I try not to put too much store in it, but have to admit it feels good.
I think the "sketch"function gets this delightful scene exactly this way. So clear and bringing out the colours that you wanted. I love all your photos . Fav this one
