Bordering the Atacama Salt Flats in Chile is a valley that resembles the surface of the moon. Huge stretches of sand sprinkled with patches of white salt mimic photos I've seen of the lunar landscape. At the top of the ridge stand some members of our photo group who climbed an immense sand dune to take in the view. I chose to take the low road which I thought was equally if not more scenic.
