We were supposed to travel to another small, rural school in our cluster for our annual cluster sports day (three small schools together) but you won't be surprised to hear it was cancelled this morning due to the weather! We had to come up with something quick as we had no plans so the whole school (that's only 40 something 3-9 year olds!) worked in mixed age teams of 2 or 3 in the hall to produce an 'Olympic Village'. The children are so good - they made all of this by themselves, only asking for particular resources we hadn't thought to put out for them or to help with the odd bit of fiddly sticking, cutting or sawing - all the ideas were their own! I've uploaded the large version so you can have a closer look if you want to.
Wow! That's fab. As a teacher, and a parent, I can really appreciate all the hard work that's gone into that! Brilliant spur of the moment activity.
