August photo a day challenge - writing

A few old editions of books by well known writers. Inside my1901 copy of 'The Mill on the Floss' is this presentation bookplate, written out to William Spence.

It feels a bit sad that I have this book and it's not still in William Spence's family. I bought it at Baddesley Clinton, a National Trust property with a second hand book shop in an outbuilding. I'd love to go back for another rummage!
Fabulous - I love old books and wondering who they belonged to so long ago. I just bought 'How to live to a Hundred' from the 1920's.

Ah this is a great shot for today's word! I'm scrabbling about the house looking in packed up boxes looking for something suitable!

Wow! These books look amazing :) I've just read the Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

Great shot for the challenge. Nice presentation of those old books I can remember when prizes at school were books, I always hoped for one! Love the open page showing us this.
