I spent a while today watching baby sparrows in the garden. Our garden has lots of hedges and I think scores of house sparrows live in them! It's not a good photo but there's a female and three young sparrows on the feeder and I've seen several young ones exploring the garden all day, seeing what buttercups taste like, practising their flying skills etc.
The jackdaws on my neighbour's chimney fledged yesterday day - on the same weekend they fledged last year! It's lovely to see all the young birds exploring the big wide world they've just discovered.
