Frog hopper by roachling

Frog hopper

I went out for a bit of birdwatching and ended up on a bug safari as I kept spotting interesting beasties. I love froghoppers and the reserve I was at was full of these red and black ones, and there were lots of others too. There was also a lot of cuckoo spit around so there are plenty more froghoppers on the way. I did take some photos of a nymph too. I took a lot of bug photos today, all kinds of beetles, and also a few bird shots - pied flycatchers and nuthatch chicks peeping out of nests. Then there were the wildflower meadows.... a good photo day!
I have always wondered what they were called - well captured
