Flash is Britain's highest village (at 1518 feet above sea level) and is just up the road from where I grew up, my family have lived and worked here in the past. The teapot parade is a tradition that began in (I think) 1846 when a village society was formed. At that time, there was no NHS or anything like that so, on a regular basis, each member of the community would contribute to a fund which was collected in a teapot. When any one from the community became ill and needed medical care, or a burial had to be paid for, or a family was struggling due to unemployment, the teapot funds would be used to help that family and then the collection would start again.
Just watched the video of this, such a great atmosphere, love all the banners. All the photos of the well dressings were great, they are so cleverly done. The fox and the duck were especially good. I couldnt get all the pictures to load but will try again. Sorry on late comment been away, just catching up.

Thanks :) If you'd like to hear the music (and general chatter / wind!) there is a short video of the parade on my latest blog post (scroll down towards the end)
