This well dressing in Eyam (the Peak District's famous Plague Village) has to be one of my favourite well dressings of 2014. It depicts the WW1 recquisition horses. Well Dressings are an ancient local custom which happen across Derybshire and North Staffordshire every year from May to September. They've been featuring in my project occasionally since May but I've seen and photographed almost all of them this year! So much work has gone into this one and I think they did a beautiful job. You can see the whole board, and close up photos of some of the details (as well as the other dressings) on the blog
The detail and standard of work and dedication in doing these is amazing! This depicts such an emotive scene, is so lovely. The photos on your blog are fabulous Louis, a treat to see them!
