Long legs in Lancashire

Out for a walk with Dave's parents this evening, I spotted a harvestman sunbathing on a stile. I did, of course, find lots of other creatures and some mushrooms and galls too.
Interesting subject. I used to love watching them when I was a child but I never heard them called harvestmen before.

@pandorasecho That's what they're called in England! We also have crane flies which are known as Daddy Longlegs over here - those are 6 legged insects though, as opposed to these 8 legged harvestmen, which are not spiders but in that family.

Interesting to know. My husbands family call Crane Flies "mosquito Hawks"
