Lichfield Cathedral by roachling

Lichfield Cathedral

I spent the afternoon 40 or so miles south in Lichfield, an impromptu visit! I revisited the cathedral and visited Erasmus Darwin's house too (grandfather of Charles). Lovely day for it!
This Cathedral is so majestic. When I was there there were too many people around to get a good shot. Great shot of this wonderful building.

@macromover That's always the case when I've been - I've never been on a weekday before - one of the few advantages of not having a job at the moment!

Lovely building. I would have rather gone there than do my exam.

Oh this looks marvellous, never been to this one, nor Lichfield itself.

What a beautiful building, almost like lace turned into stone.

It was one of the best courses I have ever read, introduction to material culture, lots of interesting stuff about the hand printing press and some of the first books, tourism, religious relics, iconoclasm, shoah, Greek vases, Roman villas, I loved the cabinets of curiosity and anatomical preparations of Frederik Ruysch, but no, the exam was terrible. About an hour after I finished it I realised where I should have written about Ruysch! ;-(
