I attended the Nature Connections Festival at Derby University this morning. A brilliant festival aimed at promoting connections to nature not just through spending time in nature in the usual ways but with more of a philosophical approach to it, reflecting on nature and how we're connected to the natural world in ways we completely overlook.
Chris Packham gave an interesting talk to open the festival and then I had a wander around the stalls and so on. The highlight was definitely the giant millipede (I was able to hold it for a while, I like giant millipedes!) but my favourite photo is this one of myself holding a Bosc monitor lizard. He was lovely. He loves being held and when I stroked his head he closed his eyes and got all cosy!
