365 Days Wild - Day 189 (100 Days Happy - Day 76)

I went for a quick walk from the house late this afternoon as the sun set (hence the funny coloured photo!) and noticed that all the hazel trees have catkins. In December. These usually appear in February, I'm sure! I was out on a December afternoon, without a hat/scarf/gloves and in my thin old jacket and was very warm - such mild weather we are having. I should have been absolutely frozen and needed hot chocolate by the fire when I got home!

It was great to get out for a bit of fresh air for an hour though.

The seasons seem all over the place! Catkins in December - something I've never seen before.

@flowerfairyann yes I'm sure they're usually mid-February. I've heard reports of daffodils somewhere south, and hawthorn blossom too - alongside berries! Nature is so confused.

@roachling There are a few daffodils out here. They are early flowering but never this early.
