365 Days Wild - Day 215

I started the year with a five mile walk from Bakewell, and had great views of this kingfisher for quite a while as it flew from tree to tree ahead of me as I walked beside the river. I didn't take any good photos of it, but I don't usually to manage to photograph kingfishers as anything more than a blue smudge, so I'm happy with this!

This is much better than a blue smudge. They are creatures of habit, and it will stay around the same stretch river, if you get a chance to return, there is a good chance you will spot him again. Given time, you could find his favourite perches.
