365 Days Wild - Day 228

Wintry scenes (at last!)

Just a very light dusting of snow on the hills (not enough to close schools, sadly!). If you stood by the trig point in this photo you'd be looking out over a green valley, across to the white hills in the distance.

Lovely winter landscape and very cleverly taken to exclude the green valley.

I've watching the forecast and guessed you might have snow. Like your pov and the view all the way across to the hills. Very pretty.

@shirleybankfarm Thanks, that's just how it looks at eye level from where I was! I'd have had to stretch up high with the camera or walk across the fields to get the green in shot! I am zoomed in here too, there was a lot more field in the foreground really, which can be seen in other photos on the blog.

great shot, that structure looks out of place and ancient...
January 15th, 2016
@zosimasy That structure is just a Trig Point, or Triangulation point, found on hills all over the country. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangulation_station#United_Kingdom

It looks bigger than it really is in the photo.

that trig point is a fascinating alien object that landed there.
