365 Days Wid - Day 363

A great walk at my nearest RSPB reserve this afternoon where, amongst other things, I watched this sabre wasp (Rhyssa persuasoria) laying eggs in a log pile.

Nice sharp focus. Not sure I would have wanted to be that close to him.

It's called a wasp but this is just a type of Ichneumon fly, completely harmless to humans!
