30 Days Wild - Day 25

A short walk to see what birds I could see on the reservoir. On one side, there's a little island that I always call the slug (I think it looks slug shaped) where a pair of oystercatchers nest each year. Sometimes there's a snipe on it too and there are usually a load of lapwings. The pair of oystercatchers were there with two juveniles (one of the adults was having a snooze though so there are only three in the photos).

I love oystercatchers, they make me smile because I always think their beaks look just like carrots!
