Reclaimed

I'm taking part in Wild Arena's July Photo Challenge this month (or at least I'm going to see how far I get with it!) and today's theme was 'reclaimed'.

This empty house, which used to be the offices for a local business, is being well and truly reclaimed by nature! I've loved seeing the plant life cover it over the last few years and it's now a brilliant habitat for, I imagine, a wide range of species. Just standing and watching for a minute, you will see various birds flying in and out of the ivy, even larger ones like wood pigeons! I often think the more overgrown it becomes the more likely people will be to complain and then 'something will have to be done with it' but I always hope that no one will bother and it will just carry on being reclaimed!

Love it. I hope other people are enjoying it too and don't complain. Reminds me of my favourite book when I was a child 'The secret garden'.

Lovely capture, far better it be covered with ivy and inhabited by wildlife than it just fall into a heap of rubble.
