Spent the day with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust as a volunteer, helping with the usual school holiday family event, Wild Wednesdays. I've not done one for a while and it was nice to see children enjoying being outside.
We couldn't do pond dipping today as the water level is so low in the pond at the moment that children wouldn't reach the water and the creatures, I'm sure, would prefer to remain undisturbed. I went to have a look in the pond though towards the end of the day and saw a couple of newts, a lot of tadpoles and some damselflies.
At this event one year ago, the pond was full and we caught several newts during pond dipping sessions.
Great shot, I am looking forward to seeing your 30 days wild pics. I'm not doing it this year as I have too much going on with challenges, but I will try and do some days if I can.
