I had a walk beside the river in Bakewell and found grasshoppers.
This evening I walked on Gun Hill to have a look at the fire burning on the moorlands above my childhood home.
Later on, I went out again to wander up a dale and wait for darkness. I was looking for glow worms. As well as the glow worms, there were bats, a pair of tawny owls and a barn owl screeching nearby too.
