I've been made redundant this year so there's no back to school for me in September. There are 4 of us leaving at the end of the year, with several others already termintated as of the end of March and the head hasn't been replacing staff who've left for the past couple of years. Budget cuts are affecting many schools, there are hardly any jobs and plenty of redundancies around here at the moment.
I'm a bit gutted that I've lost a permanent contracts, on a good pay grade for the right number of hours, but I've not been happy in my job since I started it, nearly 4 years ago. I've been looking for another job for the past few years without finding a suitable alternative - this is just a push onto better things, I hope!
Oh no!! Please ignore comment on previous photo!! Good hnting for a better job (must say I have no regrets leaving teaching (bt still not really used to 24 days leave a year!!) Turn it into a positive, your skills are very transerable. Have a good break in this heatwave! x
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks Jackie, I still have my casual work with the wildlife trusts and I'll be doing supply work whilst trying to find another job. I'd like to go back to a school for the holidays but if something else comes along, I'm not averse to a career change!
Having been through redundancy and several sessions of unemployment it is a bit demoralising but I'm sure with your positive attitude all will work out well for you. All the best for a positive future.
Oh - that must be such a turning point for you.Its good that you can see some positive possibilities from it - but it must still cause a bit of an emotional reaction. I hope you are happier in whatever follows.
