on Baslow Edge have all been sold or slaughtered. The farmer is no longer allowed to graze them there because ONE person complained to the HSE after feeling threatened by the cattle when he was amongst them and their calves with his family and a dog.
The cattle were part of conservation grazing scheme so not only have we lost the cows, but the biodiversity of the landscape will suffer now too. It's madness. It's dogs that should be banned from open access land, not cattle! They've grazed the land for 40 years without any incidents until this one person ruined it. There's a petition now so if you fancy reading a little more about it and signing the petition...
FAV - stunning landscape shot. Thank you too for the petition link. I was outraged when i heard about this yesterday. Great to know the public can register their discontent over this action. Thanks for taking time to post that.
