Freshly pierced

Sorry, I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea. I wasn't going to share any photos like this here, but it's 8pm and I have nothing else and no inspiration!

Today I added more metal to my collection :)

I've never ever said here before that I'm partial to piercings. I haven't actually had a piercing for a few years until 6 weeks ago when I got the urge again (I'm calling it a mid life crisis!). There are more on the other side, and alongside the current jewellery on my body, I wear many beloved scars of piercings past (including previous clavicle surface piercings like these). I love the scars left behind as much as the piercings themselves, perhaps even more, so always work around any old scars when getting new metal. I had my first non-ear piercing when I was 15 and over 20 years on, am still adding to the collection!

Not to everyone's taste I know, but I enjoy it and have never regretted a single piercing.

Less than 12 hours after these went in I'm already wondering "Where next?" haha!

This was just a quick snap when I arrived at work to send to the husband to show him my latest additions!

Oooh ouch, looks a tad painful!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Not yet but from tomorrow I'll be swollen, stiff and bruised for a week or so... no pain, no gain, haha!

Cool! My only piercings are several holes in the ears (very common).I really like the location of your piercings! Sorry, but I don't understand how the jewellary stick/attach?!

@overalvandaan That is four vertical bars. They're shaped like staples, with a ball at each end, so there's a bar under my skin with a a ball at each end. Diagrams here... https://wiki.bme.com/index.php?title=Surface_Bar

Will you get in trouble if you have to go through airport security? ;-)

@helstor haha I've often wondered that... I haven't flown since I was 15 though... perhaps one day I'll find out!

Now that's interesting although it looks and sounds too painful for me

I suppose in one respect having a piercing is like having a tattoo, it can become addictive. It is much easier to remove a piercing than a tattoo, although, like you've pointed out, You're still left with a scar. I have several tats, intended to only have one.

@gamelee yes, it certainly is addictive! I had a few years 'off' as my usual body piercer died and I didn't know where else to go, but I've now found a really good place near where I'm working at the moment! I've had many, many piercings over the years, but never a tattoo... never had the desire for that, I guess I just prefer metal and scars over ink.
