Up close and personal with a Western Fence Lizard, Sceloporus occidentalis, in my front yard. The white boogers are actually excess salts removed by nasal salt glands. This little guy was too comfy soaking up the afternoon sun to be bothered by my lens inches from his face.
The focus on this is just perfect and it's amazing you were able to get so close. I like how the background doesn't distract from the lizard. It's really a great photo!
WOW -- this is like the way they used to do sportscasting with segments entitled "Up Close and Personal".......close enough to see salt boogers (a little bit too close perhaps? )........lol..........
Lovely macro. I've been trying to photograph lizards this week but they run away at top speed as soon as they spot me! So glad you got this one so well; it's beautiful.
Love him and his salty boogers--haha. Our rescue Iguana was constantly sneezing her salts, so to speak. We do miss her but she lived a long time considering her awful start. Great capture of this guy
That is just fabulous Robert and I love how you gave us the info about the Sceloporus occidentialis ...hehe...I even used it's technical name, I'm so proud of me ~ I love learning about the things people take pictures of :)
