Centipede

You never know what you'll find turning over rocks, this is a centipede in the genus Scolopendra. About 10cm long and rather speedy, I kept my distance. They are venomous but not lethal, found on the hillside above my neighborhood..
definitely creepy, nice capture, love all it's segments.

brilliant capture! he is the same as the venomous centipedes we get in the pacific islands and here in Asia. Our youngest was bitten by one on the back when he was about 10...an ugly two fanged bite that went black and burned for days. In Samoa they are called atualoa meaning ancient god!
