Morning Glory by robv

Morning Glory

Flowers of a native Morning Glory, Calystegia sp. with several insect visitors. A Meloid beetle on the left and an Acrocerid fly, Eulonchus probably the species smaragdinus, on the right. The fly parasitizes the egg sacs of spiders, an unusual specialization. The little beetle at top is a Dasytid.
Busy flower!

Good find! You really know the names of these insects. Are you an entomologist?

@daisy Yup, I'm an Entomologist as well as a nature/science aficionado. I've been into growing orchids and cacti as well as kept and bred true chameleons and geckos from Madagascar.

Wow! You have a lot of things to keep you busy. I wondered if you were an entomologist because you know so much about insects. My brother is an entomologist.
