Pipevine Flower by robv

Pipevine Flower

Met a friend to go to the local farmer's market and saw this nearly mature bud on a pipevine plant he keeps under a grapefruit tree. This flower is about 10 inches long, apparently they are fly pollinated and produce a musky unpleasant odor. It just looks so odd I had to get a phone shot.
Cool

This is different. I hate plants that have unpleasant odors.

I keep thinking of San Francisco. Sutherland and pods. Body Snatcher 1970 version. Very cool.
