Wentworth Woodhouse is reputed to be the largest privately owned house in Europe. Members of the public can book a guided tour, and it is highly recommended! This is a partial view of one of the state rooms, but there are so many highlights, including the room where George Stubbs' portrait of the racehorse Whistlejacket used to hang. They have a replica on show, but the painting now hangs in the National Gallery in London. The Government have given £7 million towards the restoration of the house, so I hope to return one day...
