I treated myself to a day in Liverpool today to see the exhibitions at the Tate and the Walker Art Gallery. The weather forecast predicted heavy rain, but you can see it was a beautiful autumn day. This is a view across the docks to the Mann Island Buildings, which began construction in 2008 and now contain offices, restaurants and a couple of galleries. Nestling in between you can see the iconic Liver Building, which was built in 1911 and was at that time the tallest building in Liverpool.
I went to Liverpool many times in my working life, but these stylish buildings were not there! I love the reflections and the black against the blue sky.
