This tattoo studio is on the corner of Tamworth Road, which is where one of Britain's most notorious crimes took place. In 1952, PC Sidney Miles was shot dead by Christopher Craig. Craig was only 16, and so his 18 year old accomplice, Derek Bentley was hanged for murder, despite question marks over his involvement and mental capacity. The case was influential in securing the abolition of the death penalty in the UK.
Bentley's family continued to protest his innocence, and his conviction was overturned more than 40 years after his death.
