Banqueting House was commissioned by James I, and was designed by the architect Inigo Jones. It was completed in 1622, and is the only building that survived when the rest of the Palace of Whitehall burned down in 1698. This is a shot of the undercroft, which was used by James I to host parties. The Banqueting Hall has a spectacular ceiling painted by Rubens, and I'll post a shot of that later in the week.
