From Stanhope to Selhurst

This lovely bit of vintage typography is the work of Lionel Stanhope, a sign writer and scenery painter at Elstree Studios. He was commissioned by Network Rail to transform railway bridges in South East London, and you can see more of his work here: https://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/meet-the-street-artist-transforming-londons-rail-bridges-into-works-of-art#
Incidentally, Selhurst is in the London Borough of Croydon. It is the home of Crystal Palace football club, and also the BRIT School for perfoming arts, which was attended by Adele and Amy Winehouse.
Good to see it's not covered in grafitti, a wonderful sign.
