Câmara de Lobos is a fishing village on the south west coast of Madeira. The bay used to be inhabited by monk seals, which inspired the village name (lobos means sea wolves in Portuguese), but the fishing activity drove the seals away. Sir Winston Churchill visited Madeira in 1950, and painted the bay on his visit to Câmara de Lobos. The painting is now on display at Chartwell:
