The Tweed Run describes itself as "a metropolitan bicycle ride with a bit of style". It's a display of British eccentricity with dapper-looking participants on vintage bikes and penny farthings. It started in London in 2009, with 300 well-dressed cyclists departing from Saville Row for a group ride. In more recent years, it has become a ticket-only event with some high-end clothing sponsors. It's probably also the largest gathering of tweed-wearers in the UK outside of a Countryside Alliance or UKIP gathering.
Love the commentary. Hadn't heard of this event - Brighton hosts the antithesis of this: the Naked Bike Ride. Don't think I'll be participating in either anyime soon :D
