Well I had a really nice Easter Hunt photo to put up tonight but this afternoon we finally found the possum that Zak has been telling us is up the tree in the orchard so my biggest Grandson came to the rescue and was onto it, he is very proud it is his first possum shot as well with the gun he got for Xmas. Zak very happy and I will now be able to go to the orchard without the noise Zak has been making trying to tell me where the possum is. Had to put this up as I often put up photos my grandaughters well this is their handsome big brother.
I didn't know that a dog like this would be so dedicated to the demise of a possum. We had two Golden Retrievers who would bark the possum up the tree, hubby would get the gun, then the dogs would grab!
@maggiemae He was funny, did not know what to do with dead possum, he spends alot of time chasing the rabbits from the orchard but when the kids shot some a while back he was not interested in them, he just likes the thrill of the chase.
In urban areas possums are a pest in OZ, too, but they are protected and we daren’t touch them. In fact many people feed them and treat them as pets. We are now in the throes of losing our sixth tree to the voracious creatures.
