Rock Monitor by salza

Rock Monitor

An unusual sighting of a Rock Monitor. This chap was almost 1 meter long. He slowly retreated into his burrow whilst we watched him.
In Connecticut, on occasion, we will see our neighbors dog.

Oh my....I'm glad I have nothing like this to watch for. Is he "harmless".....or does he eat small children and cats?

@tigerdreamer Not sure, he certainly appeared to be ready to attack if needs be. He had quite a magnificent forked tongue that was two tone but unfortunately I didn't manage to capture it!
