Posting a few shots in advance because I will be away from some days.
These are the spikes and flower of a prickly pear tree. When I uploaded I saw this bee which added to the beauty of the flower.
Prickly pear fruit are so delicious. In Malta these plants grow into trees. Farmers often use them as windbreakers. They produce a lot of fruit which in many instances is left to fall and rot because farmers do not see it worthwhile to pick them because of the many spikes.
Great capture of this beautiful prickly pear. This reminds me of people that look very tough in the outside, but if you dig a little, they are sweet and beautiful inside. The spikes is just to protect themselves.
